philosophy

We are a small company committed to sustainability.

We never take more wood from our forest than will grow back.

The trees are relieved of the competitive pressure by laboriously thinning out the young growth. This avoids disease and ensures a healthy forest.

The wood is harvested as gently as possible. This means avoiding the use of heavy machinery as much as possible. If it is necessary, these are only used on frozen ground, which the weather in recent years has not exactly made easy for us.

The fight against the bark beetle

In order to limit the bark beetle infestation, affected trees must be identified and removed as quickly as possible. Removing a single tree from a stand requires experience and skill in order not to damage the remaining trees. Injuring trees, in turn, emit pheromones that alert the bark beetle to the damaged tree.
